Engagement Pictures

While in Hawaii I had the good sense to ask Claudia (officially, with ring in hand) to marry me.  After several days of looking for an appropriate place, I finally found exactly where I wanted to propose: in the middle of the Kilauea Iki crater at Volcano on the Big Island.  Unfortunately, I realized once we were down in the crater that I had left the ring on Oahu.  A very intelligent move.  After returning to Honolulu, I took Claudia walking on Sandy Beach, a particularly craggy (not sandy) and beautiful beach near her home.  With the sun setting on the other side of the island, and waves crashing into shore, I got down on one knee on the sharp rocks exposed at low tide (which hurt) and officially asked Claudia to be my wife. Happily, she said "yes." 

Below are several pictures we took when we returned to Claudia's house after I proposed on the beach.  Andrew and Tisha brought out a bottle of champagne, we called Charlie and Elaine, and celebrated.
